WELCOME to the web site of the Cardigan and District Probus club.
The club exists to provide a meeting point for retired or semi-retired professional and business men and women (hence the name Probus) at which they can contact and maintain fellowship with others in like circumstances.
We meet at the Cliff Hotel, Gwbert, near Cardigan, in a beautiful position overlooking the sea on the South West Wales coast. There is no fixed catchment area for membership, it is up to individuals to decide if they live close enough.
Club meetings are normally held on the fourth Thursday of the month, starting at 11 am and finishing at about 12.30. The usual format is for a casual get together, followed by a short “business” meeting and then a talk by a visiting speaker or a member. After the talk there is an opportunity for chatting over drinks in the bar or members and guests can also have lunch if desired at the Cliff Hotel.
3 or 4 times a year there are arranged lunches at venues within the area and occasionally organised outings to places of interest.
Except for the meetings specifically reserved for members, guests are welcome to attend.
The annual subscription is £25 or £35 for a couple, payable from the date of the AGM in May, but members joining from November onwards pay £12.50 or £17.50 for a couple. For further information please contact the Chairman or the Treasurer.
